John "Sarge" Dickerson, 75, a lifelong resident of Beaumont passed away on Wednesday May 10, 2017. He was born in Washington, D.C. on May 16, 1941 to his parents John Dickerson and Evelyn MacDonald Dickerson who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his daughter Melissa Dickerson in 1977.
John was a member of West Minister Presbyterian. He was a retired veteran from the United States Army having served in Vietnam, Korea, and multiple locations in Europe with a rank of Sergeant First Class at retirement. After retirement he was a...

John "Sarge" Dickerson, 75, a lifelong resident of Beaumont passed away on Wednesday May 10, 2017. He was born in Washington, D.C. on May 16, 1941 to his parents John Dickerson and Evelyn MacDonald Dickerson who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his daughter Melissa Dickerson in 1977.
John was a member of West Minister Presbyterian. He was a retired veteran from the United States Army having served in Vietnam, Korea, and multiple locations in Europe with a rank of Sergeant First Class at retirement. After retirement he was a truck driver for CEI, an amazing mechanic, a friend to all he met, a loyal master for his animals, a proud doer for his family, and also extremely passionate about his dedication to his country.
Surviving John are his loving wife of fifty-five years; Theda Dickerson of Beaumont
four sons, Cadell Dickerson and wife Sherry of Beaumont, Ricky Dickerson of Beaumont, Bo Dickerson of Houston, Dominique Hebert and wife Krista of Silsbee,
daughter; Michelle Bohler and husband Rickey of Franklin, Texas, seven grandchildren, Devyn Dickerson, Brandon Dickerson, Lynn Harris, III, Justin Harris, Mary Ellen Hebert, Marissa Hebert, Makayla Hebert, and two great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday May 15, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life funeral service will be held on Tuesday May 16, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with military burial rites at 2:00 p.m. at the Houston National Cemetery in Houston, Texas.
